Lucy first appeared in the box on the rainy morning of 12/29 and stayed in the box all day. Lucy has been visiting the owl box at night since 12/29. She finally stayed all day again on 1/17. It was a hot day in Poway and she was breathing heavy with her wings open. Some bees made a visit and were really loud through the camera microphone. She stuck it out for the day, was in and out throughout the night, and returned the morning of 1/18. She has been in the box for the past 4 days.
There was no food in the box on the 17th. On the 18th, there were 2 rodents in the box she ate during the day, On the 19th, there was one larger rat or opossum. This morning, she ate a rat while it was still dark.
Let's see if this works. Dennis, I checked out your web site also and you have a lovely family! Cute grandkids. Thank you for giving Lucy and Ricky a home and refuge in which they can raise their young. Even tho there are no eggs yet, I'm anticipating watching some owlets grow. When the site goes down, please don't get anxious. Things happen, and it can always be fixed. Thanks again and I can't wait to meet Ricky this evening when he hopefully brings some food for the pantry!
